The Reach Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation based in Australia that provides youth led workshops to many young Australians. Their mission is to encourage young people, no matter what their circumstances, to believe they can achieve. Because of monumental physical and psychological changes occurring, teenagers can be susceptible to a host of different issues – like mental health problems, stress, school and study challenges, and relationship difficulties. By providing a variety of workshops, such as "Fused", The Reach Foundation provides a safe environment in which they help, mentor and encourage teenagers get the most out of their lives.
The proposition of cycling around the world is met with a variety of responses. Some question my sanity, whilst others mention all the inherent dangers that are coming my way. Mountains, snow, robberies, wild animals, disease, kidnapping; you name it, I've heard it. A few have even tried to talk me out of it. Perhaps my ride is microcosm of what The Reach Foundation is all about, taking on personal challenges and pushing your personal comfort zone.
If you decide to donate, the money isn't simply going into my back pocket or for a few beers in another country. 100% of all donations are going to The Reach Foundation, facilitating them in making a positive difference for the youths of Australia. Whether big or small, all donations make a difference. Note: If you are an Australian citizen, you can enjoy the benefits of donating a tax deductible gift.
Below are a number of ways your donation can help with The Reach Foundation:
A young person can attend a Fused workshop ($75)
A young person can experience a Weekend Away ($130)
A group of regional students can experience a 'Finding your Voice' school workshop ($600)
